I recently made these lace-up armbands {as seen here} and I have really been loving them! They’re a great way to add some spice to an outfit. They only took me about 2 hours to create and ended up costing about $5 each.
{1.) Cut two small pieces of black vinyl fabric and rough it up a bit.}
{2.) To make the fabric appear more worn and rustic, age it with a knife, rock, sandpaper block, dirt… whichever you fancy!}
{3.) Add some holes to the sides. I created these holes using a cheap little paper punch! You have to push hard, but it gets the job done. Also, make sure you measure so that they are perfectly lined up!}
{4.) Insert eyelets into the holes and then hammer them into place using an eyelet kit.}
{5.) Remove the eyelet kit, and then hammer them again to flatten the metal and give it a hammered look. I also took a bit of watered down black paint and aged the metal.}
{6.) Lace it up with some suede string and you’re all done!}
I think these are so unique and I’ll probably be wearing them quite often. I may even make more in different colors and get creative with the placement of the eyelets and how I lace them. Or I could possibly make them more ornate by sewing/gluing things to the outside! The possibilities are endless when it comes to fantasy fashion!
Thanks for stopping by! Come back and see me tomorrow if you get lonely.
